Jesus was made his own weapons:

In the temple courts He found men selling cattle, sheep, and doves, and money changers seated at their tables. So He made a whip out of cords and drove all from the temple courts, both sheep and cattle... (John 2:15)

Jesus guided his disciples to arm themselves:

“Now, however,” He told them, “the one with a purse should take it, and likewise a bag; and the one without a sword should sell his cloak and buy one. (Luke 22:36)

Jesus' education to turn the other cheek was guidance on how to disarm those who have only violence in their hearts, but who have a conscience. It was not guidance to be without defense.
