After seeing how the media lied to us over the last two decades (the lies and deception went on far longer, but I was only red-pilled after 9/11), I wonder how much of what we were told about Tiananmen Square 1989 were true.
I worked with two people who were university students in Beijing during the 1989 protest, both told me that they cleared peacefully, and that the killings took place on the perimeters of the city. Neither recalled actual bloodshed in Tiananmen Square. A Taiwanese singer who was with three other prominent democracy movement leaders in Beijing also said, during interviews with reporters (Chinese and Western) that they were amongst the last ones to clear the square and he did not witness any killings.
That being said, I have also heard of first hand accounts from former PLA officers that they were given live ammunition and ordered to use "any means necessary". Some regiments did not follow orders to use force while some did.
I don't think we will ever know the truth, unless we were there when things were happening. I don't believe in the media's narrative on Tiananmen Square anymore. There are lots of censored materials about Tiananmen that we can dig up, including one British journalist who was shown an article he supposedly wrote and published about the massacre, to which he replied that he has absolutely no recollections of ever having written the article. June 4th was such a big event then, like 9/11, there is no way he didn't remember anything about it if he took part.
everyone should realize that China has paid individuals posting in this forums posts that's purpose is to paint their leader as a fighter against the deep state. When reading any posts online be aware there are individuals that post only to misinform.
We really can't tell what's going on for sure. suggest always be wary and always ask if is opinions or fact. if it is the presentation of a fact then ask if the fact can be verified. Reading any internet post where you don't know the source posting should always be done with caution.
