Daily Mail was even worse:
"It was initially thought that this match would be played behind closed doors as part of a three-game punishment handed to Hungary for the racist behaviour of some of their supporters during Euro 2020 last summer but it had become apparent in the build-up to the match that Hungary would take advantage of a Uefa rule that allowed children under the age of 14 to attend the match..... To underline the element of farce, the kids who were allowed in sat in respectful silence during God Save the Queen and then booed lustily when the England players took a knee before kick-off, in the continuing protest against racism. ‘Inherited thinking,’ England manager Gareth Southgate called it afterwards. The idea of allowing children to watch this match had backfired spectacularly before it even started."
And the Express:
"Hungary’s blackshirt racists were banned from the Puskas Arena so instead, it was the schoolchildren invited along in their place who let themselves down against England. The high-pitched booing which greeted the England players taking the knee before kick-off in Budapest on Sunday represented the dispiriting sound of innocence lost."
Since when is booing forbidden - in football of all places?
A 'reward' for dirty deeds, done dirt cheap (for the crown).
But it doesn't come dirt cheap for the knight.
He actually has to pay a stipend for the 'honor'.
Today, the crown is more a Coat-of-Arms dealer than ever.
Imagine Sir Elton John and Sir Paul McCartney in armour and doing battle.
Proof we now have irregular warfare to an extreme.
Killing us softly with their songs.

The Song of Roland
I notice these bloodlines love medals and knighthoods and marrying into royalty etc etc. Very childlike.
Talisman
Trophies
I saved one trophy from sports for sheerly sentimental reasons. They made me feel childish as you say.
A REAL military leader WOULD be caught dead wearing medals in the field. So they don't. But aristocratic generals never SEE the field.
