No but ive read a lot about this topic, add in statistics, and there is a reason men suicide and depression rates are higher. Men carry a heavier burden than women do the way society and gender differences are structured. Naturally, not artifically like leftist say.
Without knowing the details of these studies, you have to wonder if they account for emotional differences.
Is it possible that women have more emotional strength while men have more physical strength?
Or could it be because men are so heavily discouraged from expressing/releasing their emotions?
To imply that one sex has it harder than another only detracts from everyone's difficulties.
Men have it hard, that's undeniable, but to imply that women don't have it equally hard in today's society is ignorant.
Typically, men are expected to work a job, repair things around the home, tend the lawn, possibly repair cars. There could absolutely be more, but I'm not a man so I don't know the intricacies.
Typically, women are expected to work a job (at least in this economy), clean the house, do the laundry, cook the food, do the grocery shopping, and raise the children which comes with a laundry list of subtasks (cleaning them, feeding them, cleaning up after them, teaching them, entertaining them, taking them to school, picking them up, taking them to appointments and extra curriculars). And in all fairness, they're expected to look good on top of it all, including maintaining a figure after giving birth.
Even if you remove the job requirement, that's a lot for one person's plate.
A man can't know how a woman feels about her burden, nor can a woman know how a man feels about his.
But if you, a man (I'm assuming) are complaining that men have it too hard, and I, a woman, am complaining that women also have it too hard, it seems much less like a gendered issue and much more like a societal one.
Which is part of what this movement should be striving to correct, and that includes altering our perceptions of the opposite sex and whether or not they suffer as much as we do, and why would want them to in the first place.
Im a woman and I've really read a lot about it. I think modern society has been counter productive to women and is trying to put the burden men have onto us and call it liberation.
I agree with a lot of what you said, but up until this point, men have been expected to fight in wars, carry the finacial burden of the family, build the infrastructure and be the protectors of our home from the crazies (like the government lol)
I think men still carry that weight today even in the face of modernization.
They always have to pay child support and sometimes alimony. I know women who dont even have to work because of this. While men have to work twice as hard.
Women still have a lot of saftey nets, like better access to healthcare, while men pay extra for it all.
And yes. Men may have higher pay on average, but that is because they do more demanding and dangerous jobs. Im a tough girl and like hard work, but we just aren't built the way they are.
It doesn't make us less than, and we certainly do a lot of emotional work! That is very true. I feel like the general manager of the home lol. Thats a tough job.
Maybe if society was truly even, without saftey nets, women would have it super hard. Especially single mothers.
Although, think about it, today, single fathers are expected to just deal with it without help.
So it could be a symptom of society. But it seems like its usually men getting crapped on. Past and present. I could be wrong tho.
Also, I didn't just get this from scientific and opinion peices, but spiritual and philisophical as well. From the bible to buddism and some other obscure mysticism and philosophical points.
Just seems like the way things were designed, and I feel like society today is trying to bastardize that natural order to demoralize strong men so "father government" can take their place.
Not that women can't be strong leaders. Just feels like theyre trying to kill healthy masculinity and replace it.
I think they're attacking healthy feminism all the same too.
Shaming stay at home moms and deminishing what we actually do contribute.
"Let the government raise the baby, your liberated, now go work the mines like a man. Go stand on the frontlines of war like an equal."
Feels like where we are headed.
All while we have weak, gender confused, men boys, not able to stand up for us.

Totally agree with this and it's something I've complained about for years. This system was brilliant when it first started. Women couldn't work/earn a living on their own, men were often the ones initiating the divorces or causing them through affairs or abandonment. Women needed that guarantee and safety net.
I still believe in having this system in place, but it needs actual work to go into it. Women often end up with nothing after divorce because everything was in the husband's name. They end up sacrificing careers to have children, so at best they've got a giant gap in their resume that makes companies unwilling to hire them, or they have next to no work experience to begin with if they married young. Their best shots at a job are minimum wage and it's simply not enough to get by on.
But a lot of POS women have wised up to how the system works and they lie and manipulate it. That's what needs to stop.
The system would be good if it were fair. If actual individual attention were paid to these cases instead of passing everything through a cookie cutter, those types of women would get exactly how little they deserve and the men would stop getting screwed over. But the government and the lawyers and the courts don't want to put in that kind of effort, so often innocent lives are destroyed as a result. Mine sure was, which is crazy because everyone argues that women basically win by default. That's just not always true.
Maybe if society was truly even, without saftey nets, women would have it super hard. Especially single mothers.
I kind of feel like being a single mother is the golden ticket. If you don't have kids, you're SOL. At least it feels that way. Because everything you're saying about women having better access to healthcare and safety nets...maybe it's just not true in my state if you don't have kids, I don't know. I'm in a red state but really blue city, so you'd think it would be different. But I reached out everywhere for help and no one could. The systems were badly backlogged, for starters.
I did a lot of studying after experiencing what I did and it seems like abuse towards women is waaaay worse than it seems like it is. With resources across all major cities in the US clogged, it's believable.
Agree with the rest of what you said, too. Men of my generation are weak. I don't like being more handy than men I meet. I can fix plumbing, appliances, do home repairs, etc. A lot of men don't seem capable of that anymore, and kudos to the ones that are.
I've long had a theory that it's in the food. My generation seems riddled with mental health issues, and I'm no exception. Something happened between the boomers and the millenials that started wrecking loads of us, conveniently all in ways that make us more reliant upon the government.

Spez: This is a good place to start on the topic.

Sorry for the incorrect assumption.
