I read stories across the board (fox, CNN, OAN, RealRaw for some giggles), they might have a misspelling of grammar issues but nothing like that scam go fund me. By far the worst is TGP though, it’s like they don’t even use word.
I don't use Word either. Overpriced and underpowered software. I use WordPerfect. One thing I like about WordPerfect is that I can edit the spellcheck to eliminate stupid words and add necessary words. For example, "ot" is a word in spellcheck, even though 99.999% of people have never used it, and it's a typo for "to." When I worked in a law firm, I removed "ot" from the spell check. I also removed "manger," as it's a common misspelling for "manager," and it's highly unlikely that a law firm would be producing documents or letters containing the Christmas story. :)
I have seen some really terrible CNN stories online. They absolutely don't have anyone proofread anything. People are punching out stories on their phones, which are notorious for typos and egregious word replacements. Serious stories should be typed in a standard word processing software on a real computer with a real full size keyboard.
