Isn't your "not snarky" remark for your own personal benefit and not necessarily 'we'? In my post above , it was more a rhetorical remark because it is well known that "Daily Beast' is the epitome of fake news.
I did try to find the video where Masters said this. This was so I could hear it myself. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find it. Instead, I'm forced to rely on the 'Daily Beasts' reporting of it. From the full-swing of piling on from other fake news sources, this suggests to me this is a smear piece. The Daily Beast has a long history of fake news and doing hit pieces on people ranging from Van Jones to Bernie Sanders. It has heightened Spidey senses no less.
Not sure what you getting at...you said you doubt he said it ,didnt sound rhetorical to me, I said give us a counter story....
AS far as not being snarky I find folks can often be a tad oversensitive here so I was trying to be straight up...if you question a story or fact then shoot it down with proof ....
The video is out there and its not a smear piece, that is what he said.
There you go again using the plural "us", when you really mean only 'you'. You're posting a copypasta 'Daily Beast' article (without a video) expecting me to believe it. I'm doubting it until the entire video recording is heard.
It's the 'Daily Beast' reporting this. You ought to know better. For me, I'll stay in Missouri and say-- 'Show me'.
He said it alright, just not quite how the article frames it. Per usual, they make up and assume what he DID NOT say was actually what he was saying. They make it seem like he is arguing that white folks need guns to defend themselves from black folks, which he wasnt. If you LISTEN, in context, he is making a point that inner city gun violence in our black communities is big travesty that no one seems to care about. That is not a stretch, its what he was saying. Knee jerk reactions to a “mass shooting” by some white dude in the burbs while literally ignoring the epidemic of inner city violence.
