I just figured they are complying with contract law - informed consent. It's OK to hide the terms of the contract in the fine print of fiction, as long as they are accessible to the victim. The victims' lack of response to the "information" is implied consent. So, these are contracts. They are saying "This is what we are going to do to you, here in this Family Guy cartoon". And if we don't object, it's OK for them to do it. But really, they're frauds.
