So my friend is talking with someone about the increase of gas prices and Biden’s influence on it. Aside from the obvious inflation and the shutting down of pipelines and new oil leases, is there anything that points to him or his policy that has had a direct impact on the price of gas? My friend believes while Biden might not be helping, it’s mostly OPEC’s fault. So I just have to ask the question and see if any of you pedes have anything to add

The moment he took office he started moving the country from energy independence to dependence on foreign oil. He stopped all exploration federal permits. Stopped the Keystone pipeline.
A relevant fact is that Biden banned fracking in exchange for taking away our energy independence and the resumption of shipping oil from halfway across the world. He fucked a lot of people out of jobs at the same time.
That’s a really good point, that’s indirect angle most people don’t really think about
You answered your own question.

He shut down oil production on day 1. Shut off supply and price goes up.... until there is none left.

After a quick look I couldn't find any keywords in his first year regarding oil or energy production domestically.
Problem is, your friends are gonna want to see “their” sources for news directly tying Brandon to the price increases.
That’s the problem indeed, there’s no good way of simplifying it for them because they don’t accept it, especially not without direct “credible” links to it being his fault, it’s a whole complex issue that can’t really be reduced to an answer that’s acceptable for them
