The ignorance and brainwashing is strong with these.

It seems many in the crowd are ignorant, virtue-signaling puppets who are seeking meaning in their lives/looking for a reason for being/supporting a "cause" for the "look" of supporting a cause/wanting to be part of the "in" or "popular" crowd. IMHO, if the tv/MSM/politicians would do a 180 and tell them they'd actually be protecting kids/grandmas and would be doing the "right" and/or "sensible" thing by arming up, they'd jump on the bandwagon without hesitation.
