My issue with electric cars is that you are forced to buy all the fuel that the car will consume over its lifetime up front. You don't do that with an ICE car or even a horse. This makes them more expensive than gas cars at retail. People think the fuel is the electricity that you get from the wall. If that was the case a battery would be an empty tank, its not that at all its full of lithium and other metals that comprise the energy source that will propel the car once its been charged up. Put another way the fuel needs to be activated by the charging process before it can be used. If there was a way to buy an electric car and rent the battery that could go a long way to making the cars more obtainable to regular people. Imagine its 1885 and needing to buy all the food your horse will eat in its entire life at the time you buy your horse.
