The ones I had in the 70's had the handle on the top. It pointed down in relation to the barrel so we would use a piece of hard plastic and cut it down to fit on / in the top handle and make the top parallel to the barrel to mount a scope on it.
Thanks for the comments.
My post is somewhat Sarcastic destroying the lefts “Assault Rifle” narrative and how we should not be able to own them or Hi-Cap guns.
1: Available to the public before the military, so nope not a military weapon by design.
2: around 90 years of Semi Auto ownership and now its a problem? What has changed…. We all know, they fail to recognize it because its part of their plan.
Please expand if you wish, many more facets to creat red pill conversations on this one. And a timely subject.
Seem to be the rage in the day. It's a wonder anyone's left alive, those evil autos...
Here's another.
The Remington Model 8 is a semi-automatic rifle designed by John Browning and produced by Remington Arms, introduced as the Remington Autoloading Rifle in 1905, though the name was changed to the Remington Model 8 in 1911.
Of course. I could have bought rifles and shotguns from Boy's Life magazine when I was a kid. I didn't need to because I had my own rifle and a shotgun by the time I was 11. When I was 13 I rode my bike to the hardware store and bought a Colt Cobra .38 Special revolver and a box of .38 cartridges for my dad's birthday. I had saved up my grass cutting and hay loading money. Every kid I knew had guns and none of us ever shot anyone.
Yes they were very popular,in the old days,I knew a guy that had several back in the 70s
