When one side is in charge the other side feels they are illegitimate tyrant, and the same is true when the other side removes them from power, seeing as nearly 100% of people vote between the 2 parties that means that nearly 100% of people view the government as illegitimate and tyrannical. The thing everybody needs to get past is blaming "the other side" as the people actually in power do not care about Republican this, Democrat that, Trump this, Biden that, it's a tool for keeping the simpletons infighting.
