Back in the 1950's we had a so called Polio pandemic with 33k cases. Then along came the Polio Vaccine containing a live monkey virus [sv40] and that led to the billions of soft tissue cancers forty years later, kinda like the way skin cancer cases multiplied shortly after the invention of sun screen products.
