US Marine Corps: I’ve noticed these flags flying at Cherry Point Marine base Havlock NC. Top 1776 USA flag, Bottom Grand Union flag. Does anyone know why they are flying them? The Grand Union flag was the first flag of the United States after the Revolutionary War. In a way, this could be seen as a good thing. A new beginning for our country?

Also, we live near the same area, so I'm going to have to be on the lookout.

I many provided links in a comment below. It took me a while to find them all. I travel that road when going Down East coastal area of NC. I took some pictures one day on my return trip home. It took me several trips to notice those flags. I was so concerned with the sign I missed the flags.
