With bots an easy way to catch them is by using a metaphor. It's raining cats and dogs outside. You will get a response saying they don't understand the question. Also bots can be extremely aggressive and nasty getting increasingly aggressive and crude with their comments reiterating the same point over and over trying to back you into a corner.
I've watched some videos on botspotting a while back but I need a refersher.
Bots will use viscous ttacks on your personal with increasing veracity trying to evoke a response out of you.
I try to remain emotionally neutral on the forums and walk away when I see someone resorting to personal attacks it's not always easy, and I have had years of experience with forums first in gaming forums and now here. I know a lot of people are relatively new at this, but even for us seasoned forumers it's not always easy to spot a bot, and sometimes my troll meter is down and I fall for them too and then I have to tip my hat to a good troll.
The op is one of those spam posters probably a bot and the reason I use the hide thread option a lot.
Huh...always thought Taffy333 was a real person...please give me some pointers on how to spot spam posters/bots. Genuinely asking.
Maybe they are real but the poster spams a lot.
