And even higher when arsonists fuck things up.
I'm sure most of the fires we have here are started by arsonists, similar to CA. The fires around four peaks two years ago were both supposedly by vehicles, one a car parked on dry grass, the other a tow chain on a dump truck that broke off and went in to the grass, both "reasons" are bullshit IMO. We have way too many fires here to be blamed on supposed lightning strikes.
There is also the steady decline of horseshoe lake which is down about 80 ft and basically a mud puddle now a days, and lake mead is down at least 80 ft as is horseshoe.
We have plenty of snowmelt each year, there is NO reason for any of these lakes to be down so much other than completely intentional mismanagement.
Chain sparks and catalytic converters/exhaust heat can start dry grass fires, but I completely agree that people whether intentional or not are the main causes of wildfire. And such light punishments. .
I'd agree. Stupidity and selfish laziness about outdoor activities outweigh malice, like that woman who started the Rodeo fire years ago. Fined $10,000, I think.
guess I pissed off some lefty arsonist who doesn't live here, or one of the many idiots who leave their coals still smoldering
