It's cuz they are getting robbed, at least that is the case in Philly. You can't have cash on the premises right now. It's not worth a hard working manager's life.
I'd love to see a flash mob, all with cash in hand go into these places and repeatedly get denied service. After customer number 50 is turned away, I think the manager or owner would start second guessing their decisions.
Dispensaries are all cash and have visible deterrents. Have not heard of an armed heist at a dispensary in a while.
Also there is no “cash” lobby to fleece our legislators unlike the banks and the credit card companies.
This is a business model that has been proven to fail, a LOT of people use cash (me included) for restaurants,gas, food, damn near everything. If you won't take cash then the business that's competing with yours will and they will get my business. Let's see how long this lasts for.
