There is a method to the madness. Most of these so called "grifters" are actually people being used for disseminating calibrated amount of information and disinformation by the white hats. My guess is that they take the pulse of the people constantly. They dont want too many people prematurely waking up, but they also dont want too many people getting disillusioned and giving up. Hence these "hopium" channels exist. It ensures that people just have the enough drive even as they feel dejected that "arrests are not happening".
