Saw 'derecho' used a couple years ago, but before that never heard of it.
I grew up in a family that raised, bought and butchered cattle (and hogs) for our family-owned grocery store. I think if there'd been thousands of cattle simultaneously dropping over dead it would have found its way into the family conversation.
Never heard the word derechos.... The Pictures of what they called derechos, I have seen Many Times in the cloud formations out in West Texas while growing up. Nothing New, just may not be common every where.......
I remember Jim Cantore explaining the term on the Weather Channel a few years ago.. it seemed like an introduction, it was new to me. I can’t stand that channel anymore. Once you see all the propaganda, you can’t unsee it.
