Ivermectin for dogs

The vet usually prescribes Heartguard which is ivermectin but they charge a fortune. Can I dose my own dog with my ivermectin? Wondering if any of you pedes can help

The product is sold without prescription most places. Including Amazon. Get the dog pill.
