The difference will be no tangible physical representation of the currency and will be trackable and traceable with a unique ID. They will know everything you buy. You can still stash paper money inside your mattress for a rainy day as of now. After they introduce the Digital and it gets established, probably by some incentive, like giving it a bit more purchasing power, they will do away with the old currency.
