I was just in the hospital for a couple of days because I am having some gi bleeding of the upper track. I let them do an egd to see if it was stomach ulcer but there was no bleeding found there so it's assumed small intestine. Problem is, I won't take blood products from them do to the fact they don't separate jabbed, non jabbed blood. I had to sign out AMA because I wanted to leave but the blood test I had just before leaving showed my hemoglobin had dropped to 8.3 from 9.4 so the Dr couldn't discharge me per their guidelines. I am searching for a place that will do a transfusion from a personally selected donor known to me, to me. The hospital told me they don't do family to family blood transfusion but gave me no reason. Probably because they can't make money off of it. I am eating iron rich foods and also vitamin k to thicken my blood to try to stop the bleeding. All prayers are very welcome. I told the Lord, if he is ready for me, I am ready to go anytime. I have a peace about it as he is in control. 😊🙏
Why won’t they give you an iron transfusion? We used to call it imferon. Oral iron three times per day is helpful, it takes a few weeks but will bring up your levels. If it irritates your stomach, time released is often better tolerated. Raisins, dried apricots, spinach, kale (depending on other medications you might be on, and other medical conditions) all are helpful. I don’t know your age, but low hematocrit and hemoglobin seem to be fairly common in older people. I am sorry you are experiencing problems. I will keep you in my prayers.
