Why won’t they give you an iron transfusion? We used to call it imferon. Oral iron three times per day is helpful, it takes a few weeks but will bring up your levels. If it irritates your stomach, time released is often better tolerated. Raisins, dried apricots, spinach, kale (depending on other medications you might be on, and other medical conditions) all are helpful. I don’t know your age, but low hematocrit and hemoglobin seem to be fairly common in older people. I am sorry you are experiencing problems. I will keep you in my prayers.
