I’m a 29f and I’ve been in and out of urgent care, the ER, seen specialists over the course of 10+ years and nobody has been able to tell me anything outside of IBS. I assumed I had parasites, even thought I saw them sometimes, but every test I took came out negative, every treatment was ineffective.
Finally, last week, my results came back. I tested positive for C-diff and chronic Epstein-Barr Virus. These are both pretty serious conditions and I’ve had them for over a decade now but the doctor who found the issues is confident he’ll be able to resolve them without drugs.
Please send healing vibes, prayer, and any tips on overcoming these diagnoses. Also, if you’re going to trust a doctor to help you, make sure they trust YOU enough to listen to your experiences and take the extra steps necessary to get to the root of the problem! It took me ten years to find the right one and get answers. Knowing what the problem is is half the battle.
Some things that may help --
Florassist GI with phage technology -- a probiotic plus several phage strains. Phages attack specific bacteria and were widely used before the advent of modern antibiotics; they're making a comeback because of rising bacterial resistance to antibiotics and because phages don't wipe out the GOOD bacteria you need in your digestive tract.
Florassist Prebiotic chewable. -- Feeds the good bacteria in your intestines; makes probiotics from yoghurt or capsules even more effective.
N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine -- The FDA has been threatening to ban this, but it's still available and, as it happens, cheap. Important for immune system health and does good things for your whole body. Widely recommended to people with COVID and to the "vax" injured. If you've not looked into this supplement before, poke around on the internets; anyone with health issues (or who wants to AVOID health issues) could benefit from learning about this one. I take 1200mg - 1800mg daily.
Lactoferrin -- Not cheap, but worth considering. Colostrum ("first milk") is the densest natural source of lactoferrin (it acts to some extent as the immune system for newborns), followed by human milk and cows milk.
The links above are from Life Extension; I buy most of my supplements through them (and have since the '80s) but have no connection with them other than as a customer. Quality is high (they actually test ingredients from suppliers, for instance, they don't buy cheap crap from China, and they have sizeable medical and scientific advisory boards) and pricing is usually a bit higher than the cheapest brands, but they have a huge customer base and so get good pricing from their suppliers.
One more link: Life Extension has a good number of protocols for various diseases and conditions; they aren't necessarily the last word on such things but they usually provide a great overview and numerous drug and supplement approaches to whatever problem you're researching. Here's their link for immune system support:
