Tonsillectomy’s can be dangerous for adults actually. I was a told I could have it done because I get tonsil stones (very very gross), and I was already having surgery on my nose…however the problem with adults is healing and the throat getting dry and excessive bleeding. I had a bad feeling about it and just got my nose fixed instead. I hate the problems with my tonsils but I’ve got six kids and didn’t want to risk it even though it is still minimal. I imagine now with people taking the clot shot risks increase.
What was the problem with your nose? I seem to always have one nostril plugged up myself, was wondering if I need it looked at?
I had a deviated septum and my nostrils collapsed. Close your mouth and breathe through your nose, if you feel like you aren’t getting enough air or you nostrils collapse they can do things to help. They put implants in the sides that eventually desolve like stitches but cause scar tissue so my nostrils will stay open. I still don’t breathe perfectly through my nose, I can’t stand anything close to my face because I feel like I can’t breathe which made masks unbearable, which is why I would not wear them besides the principal. It can’t hurt to find an ENT and get it evaluated. My sense of smell isn’t great either but it was worse before.
Sounds like what I have,it helps if I use those breath stripes, they open things it up and I sleep better.
I will talk to my doctor at my next checkup.
I don’t regret it at all, after the surgery was pretty gross but it’s so nice to be able to not have my nostrils collapse when I breathe through my nose and be able to breathe a little bit more freely. I didn’t have any problems post surgery either, just very gross for a few days
