Will be worse in the cities, where the ability to hunt, farm and forage are hindered. I'd fully expect riots, looting, chaos in these places with subsequent fallout expanding from there, when the droves of gangs move outward looking to expand their pillaging.
Youre missing a few middle phases.
Phase one; days 2-5 Not riots, but lawless looting and pillaging en masse.
Phased two; days 6-15 Govt 'provides' (seizes and rations) food at central locations within the cities.
Phase three; days 15-30 Govt workers start to hoard the food rather than feed the masses.
Phase four; Some city dwellers begin to venture out into the country side to forage and gather and pillage. But the country-folk, including the country law enforcement repel them with deadly force. There will be NO large-scale groups of of city dwellers moving out into the country side. Expect groups of 4 or 5 MAX. Non-Related starving people can not organize themselves beyond fighting and killing each other for immediate needs.
Phase five; Military used to sweep country side to confiscate all food. Military patrols begin to go awol and join in with the people who actually have food and weapons.
There's more... but the key is that you have to survive through phase 3 and you MUST be out of the city PERMANENTLY by midway through phase one, or you're doomed. You're truly going to have to be GONE within 72 hours of the first grocery store lootings in your area.
So the question every city dweller should ask themselves is this... Do I have a day 2 plan for my family including a packing list, a route plan and a destination where Im expected and will be welcomed? And do I have enough fuel to get there or some kind of commodity besides US dollars to trade for fuel (Gold or Silver)?
Bad enough that Im moving to Fla on Thursday and I packed all my food prep. The wife thinks Im crazy.
Im expecting a bad time is heading our way.
We just moved a state away, we brought over 500 lbs worth of stored foods with us, not to mention all of my other preps - water filtration, fuel/water containers, canning, etc.
Be patient, she will thank you when rationing begins and you have prepared.
Chaos will be worse in big cities, due to them not producing anything and requiring a supply line that's on the verge of collapse due to the lack of fuel, inflation and supply shortages. The impact on rural areas and small towns will be far less severe in comparison. Keep your guns close and friends a whistle away, there's likely gonna be mobs of pillagers and looters gunning for every last scrap of food once the cities get bled dry.

Dont want to be a Debby downer but i dont want fear either. Do we really think it will turn to shit like the comments section? Im not in a city so good there and have city friends who have admitted my place is their destination which im fine with too (anyone willing to pitch in with feeding animals, garden grow etc and nor just sunbake and lounge), but isnt ebs or whatever suppose to be a plan to calm peeps?
