That is why I go to the NJ shore. Have a house down there in a little enclave of a very republican area. Even though NJ is deep blue, you wouldn't know it down there. My sanity is saved every weekend, even in the winter.
I’m glad you have that escape. Growing up, I knew I didn’t belong in that area. As soon as I graduated, I headed South. Lived in a tiny, one traffic light town in Va. My childhood friends laughed at me, but I truly loved it.
There should literally be a giant wall built around the five boroughs. Include northern NJ as well.
