I did but they did very poor, 2 rows about 75ft yellow and red taders and produced about 30 reds, and 10 yellows very small. Beans wouldnt bloom and produce about to plow them under. Water bill through the roof, only about 3.5 inches rain since Jan in Central Tx, although did get 2inches last night so may let them go longer. Tomatoes loaded but are rotting before ripening in this heat so pulling green and let ripen on counter. Ton of yellow squash, cucumber squash and Guatemalan banana squash. About 300 onions put up in March. Got 1/4th of beef in freezer from BIL for leasing my 25acres pasture. 2 whitetail deer my 16yo daughter killed on our property, self processed in freezer. Hopefully the grid stays on, will be quickly making lots of jerky.
White rice will keep in a cool, dry place, for many years. Brown rice doesn't last as long in storage because of the protein. When it comes to subsistence mode, calories is the most important thing, although you do need protein for long-term healthy survival, that's where beans come in to combine with the rice for protein; has worked for thousands of years for many people in the world :)
You growing taders?
