I'm an environmentalist in the sense that I want our waterways to be clean. Don't dump shit in the rivers. Don't toss trash outside. Don't level the forests to put up parking lots. This is all reasonable.
But now when I advocate for this, I'm instantly in the same boat as the people who insist we have to stop driving cars because the climate is changing (which it does with or without our intervention).
I think the thing that most poignantly sums up conservative versus liberal environmentalism is the fact that conservatives are more likely to live on acreage, often times singlehandedly assuring the preservation of acres of nature, and generally living within the environment. While liberals are more likely to live in either a concrete jungle, where the only wildlife is sewer rats, or in a subdivision as part of an HOA that demands you keep a perfectly manicured lawn.
When I lived in a subdivision, if I wasn't constantly on top of keeping my lawn cut, my liberal neighbors would throw a massive fit. How dare I allow nature to thrive. Now I live on acreage and I cut what I want, when I want. I keep massive sections uncut just because there's no reason to cut it, and I keep near my house cut because we have a big tick problem in my area. And the rest is just mature woods.
Fuck leftists for taking over environmentalism.

Thank you, I thought I was alone in actually caring about the environment but not going overboard about it lol.
Yea, I love nature. I think we all do.
