I live in Pennsylvania. Somewhat near Philadelphia.
Very near where Josh Shapiro sold a bunch of land in a closed door MontCo supervisors meeting after promising not to do so. (Surprise surprise.)
My county—and, more specifically, my township—has screwed a bunch of us over for more development. They claim we need the tax revenue. It just so happens one of the supervisors who approved the sale runs a property management company. He claims he didn’t get kickbacks but won’t hand over his financials to prove it. They never did an environmental analysis; we are already prone to flooding issues, and this new development is only going to add to that.
The supervisors—two of which were “specially appointed” due to vacancies—refused to use the money saved from our taxes to buy the land and create a community space as requested by the voters. We have all actively voted to keep our area rural—not that voting in PA has mattered much since 2016/before Trump.
So, in light of interest rates climbing and this being an on-going case of shenanigans, I am asking you to pray that God keeps that land farmland. That he lets us keep the beautiful, natural surroundings by our neighborhood instead of letting these greedy jerks get more money at the expense of the people.
Thanks, frens.
I sure will, fren!
