Well, Trump did say it was going to get much much colder in response to the whole " bad fire season" we had. People just do not think in long timelines, we are not alive long enough to experience tons of natural planet change (usually in our lifetimes), it could be that yes, Earth is entering a phase of chilling out (mini ice age) just same as it has done several times in it's lifespan. We "freak out" when a river changes course, before we built up tons of cities along rivers, those rivers changed course overtime to shift along with the other environment changes, without any problem :P.
