My tears have been my meat day and night, while they continually say unto me, Where is thy God? — Psalm 42:3
Have you ever found yourself in a situation like these described above? As the psalmist was writing, they were in a difficult position. They were brought to tears all day and night, so much so that it had taken away their appetite. That’s what is the meaning behind “tears have been my meat day and night.”
If you are like me, there are times when I have found myself in those positions. Life brings about situations where we are perplexed. It can be a variety of things from finances, relationships, our health, or that of our family. You find yourself in that situation and then you have that one little piece of nagging doubt. That one voice that says, “where is God?”
There are many in society that would have you believe that because you find yourself in these situations, God is not near. They want you to doubt your faith, doubt your God, and many would say that God does not care. After all, how could God let bad things happen to good people, especially those that love Him and serve Him?!
All through scripture, we see examples of good people who have bad things happen to them. Throughout our lives, we have experienced the same, seeing it with our friends, families, and perhaps even in our own lives. Bad things are going to happen. Tears are going to be shed. Life is not going to always be perfect.
That does not mean we should give up and stop trying. It does not mean that we should lose our faith in God who has proven Himself time and again. So what do we do? How do we overcome these situations and times where the doubt creeps in?
Do exactly what the psalmist does in verse 6. The psalmist tells God the exact situation. Be honest with God. Tell God that your heart is broken, tell Him that you’re struggling. But the second part is the key. Remember each and every time that God has been faithful in the past. Never once has He forsaken you.
The times around us may get tough. We may find ourselves with broken hearts and struggles, but don’t let that cause you to lose hope and faith. God is faithful. Be honest and tell Him exactly where you are. Spend time in prayer with Him and He will guide you.

Thank you 🙏🏻
I have struggled badly dealing with losses. I thought about giving up so i can be in the loving arms of God and not having to deal with any of this anymore. But then I remember He is already here with me, and I want to do his will. He loves me very much & 100 years on this earth is not even a speck of time. Thank you God for loving me & giving me these experiences. It makes me realize how I need to stay here to be an example of strength & love and see passed all the heartache. God is good.
May God bless you richly Pilgrim...
Thank you 🙏🏻❤️
Needed this right now, ashland! It made me cry more than i already was. But I knew id find something uplifting on here. Im terrified.....about to have to agree to a divorce....basically shit or get off the pot ......keep putting up with crazy or head to mommy's w my tail between my legs and start over yet again from scratch. (My husband makes the bulk of the money so its literally starting from zero) Im thankful i have a place to go though. Many do not. It amazes me how total strangers like we all really are on here can help so much. I would rather keep my family in tact for our kids but may not have a choice. Plus i didnt really wanna live near my family again bc im not even allowed to mention why my dad died....the vax. I'm a mess lol. But id like to thank you all frens. God IS with us im choosing to still believe.
Yikes.
Prayers
God bless you
One of the last things Jesus told us is "lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world". It is tough to go through trials and tribulations but God uses this refiner's fire to make us stronger. Spend time in the Psalms because David has been where you are at and his words can minister to a broken spirit. Also spend time in prayer because God is faithful and true, and able to bind the wounds of the broken-hearted. There was a time when all I could do was weep before the Lord, unable to even pray...but God knows and understands our hearts and minds, even without words. This is when it is good to pray God's Word...standing on the promises of God. I hope you find solace in the one who loves you more than you can ever imagine. God bless your family.
Dear God...
Please wrap your sheltering arms of protection around this hurting soul....
...Give her the courage to walk the valley she is treading now, give her vision to see the path you have for her through the darkness of her situation....
...Holy God shield her from the fearful darts Satan is casting her way, fill her with the strength to stand upright against the winds of change that are howling about her today...
...But most of all Father God, grant her the peace of knowing that you are standing right next to her and that you will be done...
...We ask for all these blessings in your son Jesus' precious Holy name....
Amen

I believe God answers every prayer but rarely how we expect or when we want but always in the perfect way and at the perfect time.
I believe we must sometimes learn harsh truths and travel far before we are ready for our prayers to be answered.
Amen...
..the truth is found in the darkest places....
And even in death there is no sting.
AMEN
In the darkest times of my life(anytime really) I've always leaned on God. I know without him, I wouldn't be here. I've never really questioned where is he, only why did this/that have to happen. I mention footprints in the sand when speaking to someone of the tragedies I've made it through, so far. He's always with me, I am sure of that.🙏
God is good...
...and may he bless you richly for your testimony.....
