If we're being honest, 75% of the garbage on those ships nobody needs anyway. I'm more concerned with the food supply and medical supplies.
I would really like to see a rail run from the west coast of Mexico into Texas.
We need to not be held hostage by the corrupt west coast.
As corrupt as California is, Mexico is worse. (Also, I think that the problem is customs more than ports. Not totally sure about that, but I'm not sure the rail systems handle the customs as efficiently as the ports.)
This would be a middle of America western port. All the issues you mention are still issues at any port. However, we wouldn't have to deal with stupid Covid laws and now the ridiculous fuel issues.
