If Captain Dementia or should I say his masters wasn’t determined to cripple domestic production and let people drill. Costs would be lower. And we could export Gas.

Which in turn would undercut one of the biggest cudgels Russia has hanging over a Europe addicted to Russian Gas. Not exactly rocket science.
