Interesting take away. Sheriff's are elected, by county, the majority of counties a lot are republican. A sheriff that determines lawlessness in another county is effecting his residents can take action in that county. A sheriff's and Marshall's powers are included in the constitution, they can arrest federal agents. The founding fathers were very astute in foreseeing the future.
