A woke Universal Music Group worker had a task: to process reports for upcoming releases and email his work to 275 people.
HOWEVER, “Last Friday, like countless other folks, I was devastated by the news of the supreme court’s [sic] attack on abortion rights,” Lopez wrote. So, instead of that, he wrote an email that read: “I didn’t do them today.”
“I’m in mourning due to the attack on people with uteruses in the US. Federally guaranteed access to abortion is gone,” the email continued.
After sending the loaded email, Lopez said he was told by a manager to “take the rest of the day off.”
When he returned to work the following Monday, he said he was greeted with “a surprise Zoom video chat with HR.”
FIRED.
“I was being let go for (paraphrasing) ‘Not doing your job, disrupting the day of 275 people and poor judgement’,” Lopez wrote.
THE END. 🤦🏻♂️

My company had a layoff the same day Roe was overturned and unfortunately, I drew a number. I talked with a former co-worker of mine as there was apparently a quick meeting about it on Friday and a more in depth on the regular Monday all hands. She told me at the Monday meeting, someone tried to bring up Roe. Uh, dipshit? 40 people who were in this meeting at this time last week aren't here today through no fault of their own. I just rolled my eyes. It is a good thing I wasn't there because I might have lost it on that person. Someone never learned the lesson of time and place
