Reports are saying it was an earthquake, but be not deceived- this is a sign from God intervening on our behalf.
How can I explain how much I detest these sorts of posts?
The implication for one is I / others are being deceive if there's no valid reason to believe God literally zapped this monument without natural phenomena... because this is how God shows he's doing something?
How about: Be not deceived, no humans including self-proclaimed prophets can read the mind of God and know his plans in the providences of the times. Just because we WANT it to be so doesn't actually mean God's ways are our ways, or timelines. In fact its not man's job to know. There are many who make a living off of convincing people they need to know and can know.
God does not zap monuments or other extraordinary signs to motivate people to faith, who would otherwise not have believed. This distorts the whole purpose of miracles.
You see, many will want to believe this is the case, that God did something unique and powerful, and if it turns out not to be so, where does that leave their faith? What or who was the object of that faith in the first place?
Is it national repentance that is the concern? Well, even if a dead sinner came back from Hades to warn other sinners to repent, according to Jesus that still would not work, because of the darkness of human depravity. The hearing of the message of the Gospel is all that is needed to deliver or condemn.
If it turns out that this was man made destruction, that does not effect my faith in God as God works through man much of the time as you see with PDJT. I don't know one way or the other but am happy that it's been partially destroyed. Maybe more people will be curious about it's intention by those who built it in the first place. Maybe more will awaken when they find out what it says.
