Thank you! I appreciate everything about your response. Not only is it valuable to have the witness of someone who lives in Sri Lanka, but your gentle civil, tone and positive outlook are refreshing.
Sometimes it's hard to cut through the informational fog. I fault no one for making judgments that seem plausible. We're all looking for the truth, and that includes recognizing the spin that comes from our own expectations, which can be right or wrong. I have often had to adjust my thinking when I heard the witness of local people reporting the truth about a situation, and I tend to go with that as being the more trustworthy. A prime example is Ukraine. We wouldn't have known what was really happening there were it not for Ukrainian people telling the truth about it.
You know your compatriots better than anyone looking on from afar, and I trust your sense that in the end things will be better for your country, even if it might be a little rough on the way. God bless you, and God bless the people Sri Lanka. May your liberation lead you to prosperity and peace.
