Watch the carbs!! When potatoes, noodles or a candy bar hit the bloodstream they do the same thing.

I'm dealing with gestational diabetes right now. If he wants a snack, look into keto stuff. That's been helping my ice cream cravings.

If you aren't cutting carbs...the high fat in keto can be a problem.
Oh for sure. But I have to cut carbs due to high blood sugar. I don't remember the numbers from my last pregnancy, but it was something like 30g of carbs per meal. Seems like one meal had more. I'll have to dig out my old papers, and hope they don't send me to a dietician again.

Those packets you mention contain Organic Erythritol and Organic Stevia Extract
I would get the pure stevia extract. This has the best flavor imo:
SweetLeaf Sweet Drops Liquid Stevia Sweetener
Contains only stevia extract and water.
Edit: From what I remember, even the non caloric sweeteners like stevia extract still trigger a similar response in the body as if you ingested real sugar.
Any simple carbohydrates - pasta, bread, etc. - will do the same. Complex carbs, veggies, fruits, meats and cheese.
