They act like it's so surprising to see even though Christians make up a large population.

Many of the Christians I grew up with would limit media/technology and steered away from the media they felt was degenerative. I believe it's gotten to a point where Christians can no longer steer away so they are fighting back. Maybe that's why it's so surprising for them.
