To be honest I don't think it was released on purpose just yet. I think it was more of a fuckup and they released it too early. If they really wanted to fear monger it, they'd go back to corona style tv shit with live death counts.

My local paper has started that up again starting in May (Ohio). spez: But the local health department stopped publishing numbers in April and hasn't restarted (yet).
