I see this quote get tossed around now and then, but never quoted in context. So here it is:

Because We have no Government armed with Power capable of contending with human Passions unbridled by <, Start deletion,[. . .], End,> morality and Religion. Avarice, Ambition <, Start deletion,and, End,> Revenge or Galantry, would break the strongest Cords of our Constitution as a Whale goes through a Net. Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious People. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”

Note this: “this Country will be the most miserable Habitation in the World”. That’s where we’re headed, folks, and memes and words don’t stop the slide. Prepare to defend your inalienable rights through all Constitutionally granted privileges to citizens of this country.

The nature of our adversaries practically guarantee you’ll need to exercise those rights at some point, and anyone saying otherwise should be regarded with extreme suspicion. Anyone claiming that talking about this is an incitement to violence should be shunned and disregarded, because if you don’t know the difference between talking about something and doing something you need to go back to the kiddie table until you’re mature enough to have adult interactions.

As they say, “hope for the best, but prepare for the worst”. Because eventually, a new “worst” will likely roll around…
