We reviewed them like commercials. We practiced with Nike, and Ford ads. We looked at who was in the commercial, what did they look like etc. We them figured out their target audience, and what message the add was portraying (nike - run fast). Students were picking up on where politicians gave their speeches, who was in the "shot" with them... Some of the brighter students were able to see racist themes (if blacks make up 10% of the population, why do they make up 50% of this commercial? Why are all of the white people the servers? ) It was great!
