I saw a video of what was purported to be CNN 'correspondents' in front of a green screen and claiming to be reporting from Iraq during the Gulf War. Ergo, this doesn't surprise me one bit.

The video of that, that is still available on the net isn't as bad as the full video of the green screen set. There is a longer, unedited version (I have not seen in years) that shows the entire green screen set. They knew what they were doing.
