As an example, in the future, if someone asks me to wear a mask or asks why I am not, I'm going to fire off pithy phrases.
I recommend memorizing Fauci's original statement on masks from March 2020-
“When you’re in the middle of an outbreak, wearing a mask might make people ‘feel’ a little better and it might even block a droplet, but it’s not providing the perfect protection that people think that it is. There’s no reason to be walking around with a mask.”
If they then argue the science says something different, you can counter with this- "I just quoted Anthony Fauci from March 2020. Are you suggesting he lied to the American public?"
They may counter with, "The science has changed. We now know more than we did then."
"You realize Fauci admitted he lied about masks to prevent the general public from causing a shortage of masks for health professionals, right? What makes you think he's telling the truth now?"
If they still resist and defend Fauci, you can say, "I don't believe you trust the science or Fauci either. If you did, you'd be wearing a double or even a triple mask. Fauci said, 'If you have a physical covering with one layer, you put another layer on, it just makes common sense that it likely would be more effective.' In January 2021, MSNBC ran a segment highlighting Virginia Tech researchers who reportedly discovered a double mask was 75% more effective and a triple mask was 90% more effective at preventing the spread of Covid. If you truly believe in the science, what is your reason for non-compliance with those recommendations?"
