This is so timely for me. I have my own graphic design business and I have two years toward a Fine Arts degree with emphasis in Marketing. Because of years and years of working a regular job and doing my side hustle to support me and my son, there was no time or money to continue my college degree. I loved college. Had a 4.0. I'm finally making almost enough to survive on and I think, did I make a mistake? Should I have finished that degree or are these decades of experience as valuable? It's nearly too late to make a difference now. Would I make enough money to be able to save up for a house by myself? These thoughts seesaw over this a lot. Still not sure, but I am a GREAT, reliable Graphic Artist with a good reputation.
Would that degree give you jobs you can’t get right now without the degree?
If I were younger, yes. Now, probably wouldn't hire me due to my age. But my design business is starting to finally grow. So, I think I just need to try and get more clients and grow my income that way.
