Yes! I think submitting to authority (no matter what the authority is) has been ingrained in our culture through school programming, medical doctors, organized religion/church, etc. People are raised to trust authority without question. And critical thinking is not taught in schools... But here is where it gets complicated - how do we know the people in authority have our best interests in mind? This is where discernment and critical thinking comes in. Also, some of us were just born to question authority figures, and we are typically immune to the propaganda.
