Be polite and professional in your interview.
They were extremely friendly and very accommodating. I am also grateful they saw me as valuable and look forward to helping them kick butt in the industry.
Take a chance no matter what the listed job requirements are. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain by offering them something of value. YOU.
I actually wanted to post something similar here. I got a job offer from a company in Chicago. They require the covid-19 shot, and I asked them to provide in writing up front that I would never be required to get any vaccine as a condition of employment. They said no and I walked. It would have been a 20% pay increase and I know the manager really, really wanted me to take the job, but I'm sticking to my guns. I will not get the poison death shot. I even cited Pfizer data in my letter. I honestly thought for sure they would cave.
I think guiding them through the utter BS of the facts is the way. Most people think the vax works. That it is safe. Etc.
If I am ever asked to provide or get it, I obviously won't. But I will show them the data that shows them that they are wrong and making people take an unnecessary risk with something that does not work.
Good on you for walking. My whole family sold out. Every single one except for me, and now, they're getting sick regularly in the middle of summer. Great.
Thank you. I would say it was a hard choice, but I knew I didn't want to gamble on their "you can request an exemption" nonsense. At that point, no amount of money would have swayed me.
I still don’t understand how they aren’t violating ADA laws by forcing medical procedures as condition of employment.
Don’t fret, you did the right thing.
Managers there don't make those policies, it's HR.
Plus, if they gave a blanket exemption for someone (i.e. not medical or religious), when they required all existing employees to comply, then they would be up for class action.
No. This would have been remote, which makes it more ridiculous. The company has locations mostly in the Midwest, but has some in places like Arizona. Not a single location is within 6 hours of me and I'd never set foot on their property.
I hope this gets some gears turning over there. I had been referred and they wanted to poach me from my company. I was their top choice and would have been a business intelligence "expert" on the team. Too bad for them, I guess.
I will hire you to be my business intelligence expert for 149 dollar bucks per month, pretty much just chat and exchange ideas for my local lawn business
I spoke directly with the General Manager and Director of Operations via word of mouth from a salesman at my current company.
