The challenge I struggle with is that so many people see the King James version of the Bible as the holy word of God with no chance that it has been tampered with despite the fact that it has largely been under the control of the Catholic church for the last 1800 years or more. We know the Council of Nicea changed parts, excised parts. That stuff is still being done. So, while I believe the Bible should be studied and the wisdom of it taken in and appreciated, I still think we need to use discernment. Satan quotes scripture in the Bible. How happy does it make Satan to use the word of God to deceive people into destructive behavior?
And I remind myself that both of these words--Revelation and Apocalypse--mean essentially the same thing: the unveiling, the bringing to light. In other words, The Great Awakening. :)
KJV had the Vulgate as a starting point for much of it. The Vulgate was in Latin. It was translated from the Greek and Jesus's language--Aramaic--into Latin. Lots of translations went into the KJV. Anybody who has studied another language comes to learn how much "art" goes into translating. It's definitely not an exact science. English as we have it now demonstrates the wide changes a language goes through over a relatively short amount of time.
The Council of Nicea did a lot more than just meddle with the words too.
Revelations scares the shit out of me.
I think either, Revelations is playing out or someone is trying to force Revelations to play out.

This is not true. The council of nicea only made changes to the catholic Bible, which is composed from Alexandrian texts. KJV is Syrian texts.

The KJV has zero latin vulgate in it. The main reference used was the Textus Receptus.
