Note that Ivana was to "go on vacation" the next day. This would make a dandy excuse for someone who needed to bug out. She could have packed her bags and had them picked up a day or two in advance. No one would give a second thought to this, knowing she was planning a "vacation." So, they fake her death and in the chaos, no one even thinks of the baggage they may have seen someone taking a day or two beforehand -- if anyone saw it at all. The focus is now off the "vacation" and onto Ivana herself.
I doubt SS protection because they’d been divorced for a long time before he even ran, much less became POTUS. I do think she probably had security, though, just because of the name and how much hatred has been stirred up against DJT within the last decade and how many want to hurt him.
